What students lack at the start of their higher education studies is comprehensive information about what their studies will look like. The transition to higher education institution is a completely new life experience for them, in which they deal more or less well with a great deal of freedom and responsibility. The fact that some do not succeed may not only be due to a lack of knowledge, but also to the ability to organise their time and schedule their work or to the availability of the right information.
The SNOP project (Study failure with regard to the transition from high school to higher education institution) supported by the Czech Technology Agency, which looked at the (un)success of the transition from high school to higher education institution, has ended. See its summary and the newly published analytical report and recommendations for the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. We intend to continue to use the results for further CSVS (Centre for Higher Education studies) activities in the coming years.
